THE FASCINATION OF THE INVISIBLE FORCE
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT MAGNETS
Practically in all our magnet products we use the high-grade, super strong neodymium magnets which excel in an extremely adhesion. Neodymium is a chemical element and belongs to the rare earth metals. Now, how much power is hidden away in our magnets? To make it easily understandable, we have created our own scale of strength from 1 to 5, so you and your customers get a good picture of their force. This is our internal grading.
1 purely decorative magnets
2 easily holds up a postcard
3 our strong Steely magnets
4 very high adhesion
5 Attention: super strong!
How strong are the Trendform magnets? To give you a good idea how much weight a Trendform magnet is able to handle, we are indicating for each magnet group the number of A4 sheets 80g/m2 a magnet is able to hold up on a smooth, untreated metallic surface. With the magnet clips we indicate the number of sheets the clip can hold, without the magnet giving way to the weight. With the magnetic hooks on the other hand we indicate the weight you can hang on the hook without the magnet sliding away.
Important: It very much depends on what kind of metal you are using the magnet. There might even be differences between the types of paint used on the steel surface. Our measuring is based on untreated steel. Not all magnets are suitable for a glass magnet board. The corresponding symbol shows which Trendform magnets can be used on glass.
MAGNET SECURITY
Magnets are not a toy – danger of choking and asphyxiation!
Small, strong magnets are not suitable for children! There is a risk that children may swallow small magnets. If more than one magnet is swallowed, they can stick to each other in the intestines and result in life endangering complications. In this case consult a medical doctor immediately.
Please ensure that the magnets do not get in to children’s hands. We call on the common sense and the responsibility of parents and custodians.
Electronic devices
Magnets may deter the functioning of electronic devices such as smartphones or pace makers. Please ensure that magnets are kept away from all objects sensitive to magnetic fields (e.g. credit cards).
Risk of contusions and splintering
Very strong and large magnets have an enormous force of adherence, so that fingers or skin may get stuck between two magnets. This can lead to contusions and hematomas. Please bear this in mind.
Neodymium magnets are brittle. If two magnets collide, they may splinter. Therefore please avoid any collision of magnets. For this reason we have covered our bestseller magnet CUBE MM2010 with a removable silicone protection cap. This prevents an unwanted splintering and furthermore, you can get a much better grip of the magnet.
